Cao Bing , MD, associate professor, master's tutor, graduated from the School of Public Health of Peking University with a PhD. He has been to the University of Toronto in Canada and the University of Copenhagen in Denmark to engage in visiting research in the field of mental health and public health. Main research areas are the physiological, psychological and neural mechanisms of mood disorders ； Psychological mechanisms and intervention of psychosomatic diseases ； Obesity metabolic syndrome and cognitive research ； Application of preventive medicine testing in the diagnosis and treatment of affective disorders. He currently presides over a number of national and provincial-level projects including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Foreign Experts Program, the Humanities and Social Sciences Fund of the Ministry of Education, and the Chongqing Natural Science Foundation. He has published more than 80 papers as the first author or corresponding author in authoritative journals such as Neuroscience & Biobehavioral Reviews, BMC Medicine, Translational Psychiatry, and Obesity Reviews.

Depression is a major global public health challenge, and its occurrence and development involve complex interactions among cognitive processing, neural circuits, and metabolic-inflammatory pathways. In recent years, the intersection of cognitive neuroscience and behavioral medicine has provided a new perspective for analyzing the pathological mechanism of depression, and non-pharmacological intervention strategies (such as cognitive training, lifestyle intervention, etc.) have also received increasing attention.

      In order to promote academic exchanges among researchers in related fields, the "Molecular Mechanisms and Clinical Translation Research of Depression" research team specially organized this academic lecture. The lecture focused on the cognitive neural mechanisms of depression, the co-morbid basis of depression and metabolic abnormalities, cognitive and behavioral-oriented non-drug intervention strategies and other cutting-edge directions. Associate Professor Cao Bing of Southwest University was specially invited to share his team’s latest research results on depression-obesity reward system mechanisms, cohort studies and cognitive intervention.
